WEEK 4 24/4/2023 CONTINUATION OF OUR SAMPLINGS ( no classes due to public holiday )

 


During week 4, I had continued with my samplings and had managed to complete 4 samplings alltogether. I tried to do as many geometrical patterns as I could. 


As a continuation from week 3, I had completed the 2nd sampling which included swirly lines creating a wave-like pattern. 



After that I moved on to my third sampling which included panels as patterns. 



Moving on to my third sample. 



While trying new techniques, I found this spiral pattern and really liked it.


This is my finalised 4th sample.



STORY WRITE-UP

Crochet is a method of creating a pattern by using thread, yarn, and other materials. It is done by looping the yarns together or as some may say it is a knotting technique. These interlocking loops remind me of family bonds that are tight, united, and together. It creates various patterns that also pictures a family in different ways. The different colors can be seen as the various emotions felt and these colors are joined together no matter what leading to an understanding and accepting environment. Each loop strengthens the crochet work and brings it together, same goes to a family bond, with every initiative taken the bond only gets tighter and stronger.

Assessment 02 : FABRIC MANIPULATIONS AND SAMPLINGS

For this assignment we were given the theme fashion collabs and create a collection in Ready To Wear apparels. With that, I designed several design developments in mind that I wanted to make it as sustainable as possible. And without further hesitation the first thing that came to mind was denim. I wanted to go for a more street aesthetic and incorporate that in my design.  Denim has become a cornerstone of streetwear, prized for its versatility, durability, and timeless style. ASSIGNMENT 01 - INTRODUCTION TO 3D CREATION

 For our first assignment, we were tasked to complete 3 complete outfit variations using CLO3D.  1st Variation:  Basic bodice block and skirt. For this design, I had drafted a pattern for a basic bodice and skirt following the guidance of Dr.Alshaima. After drafting the basic bodice on the 2D pattern, I continued to simulate the garment by adjusting it around the body to check the fit of the garment. On the 1st fit, I found out that the bodice was slightly loose. So, I reduced the waist size sinching it in.  This is the final outcome of the 1st Variation:  Front  Back Final 2D pattern 2nd Variation:  For my 2nd Variation, I decided to do a short, ruffled sleeves with a dip V-neck front and back bodice paired with a pencil skirt. As for the patter, I adjusted the front bodice neckline to a V-neck (same with the back) and used rectangle strips for the ruffled strips.
