ASSIGNMENT 1 : INTRODUCTION TO LECTRA MODARIS

 WEEK 1

During our first week of class, we did a brief introduction on what we were going to learn for the semester as this subject is very new to us. Then, we were introduced to a programme called Lectra Modaris. Fashion brands can use it to develop patterns and prototypes that are ready for production. By utilizing industry best practices in product development, Modaris guarantees a constant standard of excellence and quality throughout the process.

We were then given a step by step video instruction on how to create a bodice block using the lectra modaris programme and also a basic sleeve. 

WEEK 2 



The instructions were easy to follow but I did a few mistakes and asked for advice from miss and she had helped me throughout the process of fixing my patterns. 

We had also added seam allowences to the pattern pieces.

I had then started my first assignment which we had to produce 2 manipulated variations on the basic bodice or sleeve blocks that we had previously made. 

For my first variation, I had first made a basic bodice as my base and began manipulating it. Curving the bottom of the bodice.  




As for the second variation, I had chosen to use the basic sleeve block. Extended the sleeves and curved the sleeves at the bottom.

WEEK 3

On this week's class, we learnt how to check our pattern pieces by matching it with the coherent pattern pieces. 




Reflection : 

I'm grateful that Dr. Alshaimaa gave clear instructions since they made the learning process go extremely smoothly and amusing. I had a great time learning how to use this software—it's something I've never done before. Utilizing this software to build my design has motivated me to start designing throughout this semester.

ASSIGNMENT 02 - INITIATING FINAL PRODUCT LINE

 In this assignment, I am translating my earlier research findings into functional, adaptive garments. The goal is to experiment with various functional design elements while addressing consumer pain points and filling market gaps. Working independently, I will focus on creating innovative design solutions tailored to the needs I identified. On the 23rd of October, we made a visit to NASOM center in Batu Caves. The National autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) is a society formed in 1986 by a group of parents and professionals with the aim to deliver lifespan services to the community of persons suffering from autism. Assessment 02 : FABRIC MANIPULATIONS AND SAMPLINGS

For this assignment we were given the theme fashion collabs and create a collection in Ready To Wear apparels. With that, I designed several design developments in mind that I wanted to make it as sustainable as possible. And without further hesitation the first thing that came to mind was denim. I wanted to go for a more street aesthetic and incorporate that in my design.  Denim has become a cornerstone of streetwear, prized for its versatility, durability, and timeless style.
