WEEKLY REPORT
Place of Internship: Kanoe Wear
Date: 06/03/2025 - 28/03/2025
WEEK 01 (6/1 - 12/1)
For my first week at Kanoe, it was a little stressful, but I really enjoyed it. As I was an intern, I mainly did small tasks on my first 2 days as they didn't want to overwhelm me with tasks. As the Kanoe studio had just moved from Subang to Seri Hartamas, there was a lot of things that needed to be tidied up and sorted. I mainly built furniture and helped sort items.
Besides that, one of my coworkers, Aini, helped teach me how to pack our customer's online order. It was very new for me as I've only worked in F&B businesses before this. I had also learnt how to take product pictures for our new stocks.

On Wednesday, we had our 2nd batch CNY launch. I had been assigned to upload the products online with the correct descriptions and suitable names.
Figure 3. Uploading products online using the EasyStore platform.
For the rest of the week, I had just continued assembling furniture, tying scrunchies to the suitable ribbons and also prepping tags for future products.

During the weekend, Sunday, I was assigned to work at Kanoe's retail store at REXKL. I mainly assisted in prompting sales with customers. Besides that I learned how to create a more welcoming atmosphere for customers. Towards the end of the shift, we began cleaning up the store to prep for closing. Clocked out at 7.30p.m.

WEEK 02 (13/1 - 19/1)
During week 2, we were packed with CNY orders as we had just launched our 2nd batch with additional promo. I had mainly observed the online stocks and packed customers' orders. Once done packing orders, I was assigned to tie some scrunchies to their matching ribbons as a huge stock had just arrived.
Our manager had also asked me to find out a way to store the scrunchies neatly so I suggested to get a branched clothing rack. Besides that, I was also assigned to prep the stock for our new store open at The Campus Ampang (opening in February).
We had to choose at least 20pcs for each size. For an example, for our kimono wrap dress, there's a freesize option and also smaller freesize, so we had to pick 20 attractive designs for each size. I had repeated this steps for all of our other designs. Not forgetting that we had to pack about 50pcs of each of our accessories for the new store that we have in stock.
During this time, I was guided really well by the team into choosing the best products that suited the Ampang store ambiance.
During my breaks, I was asked to assemble some furniture/racks for the storage room.

WEEK 03 (20/1 - 26/1)
I learnt a lot this week as I was given the opportunity to handle new stock arrivals where we have to ensure the quantity and quality of stock that had just arrived. Once we count the stock, we have to fill up a sheet to keep record.

Once done checking the stock, we then plan distribution to online and retail stores, tag and label all items to ensure a smooth transition.
On Tuesday, we had our indoor Valentines Day shoot. I helped to arrange any props used for the shoot to suit the Valentines aesthetic.

We then continued with outdoor couple shoot on Wednesday which I wasn't able to follow but helped to pick out a few suitable places that matched the couple's vibes. We then had our very first company dinner later that night.
Besides that, for the rest of the week, I carried out simple tasks such as tying tags, fixing furniture and also continued to pack for our new store open in Ampang. As usual during the weekend, Sunday, I worked at REXKL, Kanoe's retail store.
WEEK 04 (27/1 - 2/2)
During this week, it was a little hectic at the studio as CNY was getting closer and orders kept coming in. We offered a same day delivery option which really helped boost the sales as people were rushing to get CNY clothes.

WEEK 05 (3/2 - 9/2)
We had our Valentine's Day Launch this week. Before this, there was 5 of us in the studio so the workload was light but due to some personal circumstances, 3 people left the team leaving me and another team member to handle the online store and everything behind the scenes. For this week, we were really focused on launching V-Day well.
I had edited the website visuals to suit the theme of V-Day and added some quirky names for the products to attract customers. We did receive some feedback from our advisor to edit a few things on our online store to make it more attractive.
Besides that, I was assigned to create an email draft on Brevo to send out an email blast to all customers that had subscribed online. It was a little challenging but mostly fun as I had previously done similar jobs. I made a few drafts, and my supervisor had picked out the one she thought suited the theme best.
Before the launch, we monitored all scheduled launches so that no mistakes were made during this process.

Reflection:
My time as an intern at Kanoe as a studio assistant has been an incredibly rewarding and transformative experience. From the moment I stepped into the studio, I was immersed in a dynamic and creative environment that allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. Working alongside the talented team at Kanoe, I gained a deeper understanding of the intricacies of studio operations, design processes, and the importance of collaboration.
Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to assist with a variety of tasks, including setting up studio spaces, organizing materials, and supporting artists during shoots. These responsibilities taught me the importance of attention to detail, time management, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced situations. I was also able to contribute to brainstorming sessions and gain valuable insights into the creative process, which further sparked my passion for the industry.
What stood out the most was the collaborative nature of the work at Kanoe. I learned how vital communication and teamwork are in achieving shared goals, and I was inspired by how everyone’s unique skills and perspectives came together to create something greater than the sum of its parts.
This internship not only enhanced my technical abilities but also helped me develop a stronger work ethic and a more refined understanding of studio dynamics. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a dedicated and inspiring team, and I am excited to carry these lessons forward in my future career.
