WEEK 1 - 5/4/2023 : INTRODUCTION & BRIEFING / EXPERIMENTATION ON MEDIA - HATCHING ON PEN

During Week 1 we were briefed on the MIB and all of our upcoming assignments. Mr. Jasmi had advised on the stationaries that we needed to get for our upcoming projects. After the MIB briefing, we were then assigned our first assignment which was 'Experimenting on media - Etching Pen'.

Figure 2 shows the first few examples of all our projects, and this helped me by giving me a rough idea of what can I expect in the future assignments, with this, I was able to prepare myself for future assignments.

We were then asked to look up for fashion editorials online with the theme of f ‘Black & White Avant Garde’. Figure 3 shows the fashion editorial that I had chosen for this assignment.

During class, Mr. Jasmi had shown us and explained to us on how to do hatching on pen. We were advised to only use one direction when using this technique. This technique is called 'angled straight etch'. We had to trace the fashion editorial we had chosen onto an A3 sized paper. This would be our trial-and-error phase where we perfect the technique before transferring it onto the illustration board.

Garment Creation Technology 1

 GARMENT CREATION TECHNOLOGY 1  ASSIGNMENT 1 During our first week of class, we were briefed on the semesters schedule and flow of all future assignments. Then we started with our first assignment.  For our first assignment, we were tasked with creating a Clo3D version of one of our previous designs. I chose to remake the kids' adaptive clothing design I developed in the previous semester. Top Front Top Back Pants Front Pants Back These were the designs that I chose to transfer to Clo3D. I did make a few adjustments to the design when recreating it in Clo3D as I was unable to replicate the exact design.  As for the top, I removed the snap button detail and also the zip flap. Instead, I made the zip a 2-way zipper on CLO3D. Besides that, there was a box pleat at the back of the top. ASSIGNMENT 01 - INTRODUCTION TO 3D CREATION

 For our first assignment, we were tasked to complete 3 complete outfit variations using CLO3D.  1st Variation:  Basic bodice block and skirt. For this design, I had drafted a pattern for a basic bodice and skirt following the guidance of Dr.Alshaima. After drafting the basic bodice on the 2D pattern, I continued to simulate the garment by adjusting it around the body to check the fit of the garment. On the 1st fit, I found out that the bodice was slightly loose. So, I reduced the waist size sinching it in.  This is the final outcome of the 1st Variation:  Front  Back Final 2D pattern 2nd Variation:  For my 2nd Variation, I decided to do a short, ruffled sleeves with a dip V-neck front and back bodice paired with a pencil skirt. As for the patter, I adjusted the front bodice neckline to a V-neck (same with the back) and used rectangle strips for the ruffled strips.
