FINAL REFLECTION: 

• What have I learnt in this module? 
At the beginning of this module, we were introduced to the many design principles such as gestalt theory, contrast, emphasis, balance, repetition, movement, harmony and unity, symbol and word and image. This helped me improve my ideas for my design and better express it in various ways. 

• What did I enjoy the most?
I really enjoyed the process of the idea exploration during the process of our design. During this time, I was able to explore various ideas by referring to our visual references. Besides that, I enjoyed the online lecture as I was able to look at my peer's design and receive feedback from our lecturer. This gave me more courage to continue making my design.  

• What did I not enjoy the most?
I personally really enjoyed the class because it was a very innovative and creative module. I don't think there was a part that I didn't enjoy.

• What have I learnt about myself through this module? 
I learnt that I was able to come up with many simple ideas through visual references. This helped me to get a visual on how I wanted to make my design look like.  

• What has changed and what has not in my learning journey? 
 Changed: 
During this module I decided to venture out into digital art. It was my first time doing so and it was very challenging. I started practicing using digital art as it is very useful due to the rising use of technology. 
Did not change:
I believe that my artistic skills need to be improved as there was not much of a progress in that during this module. 

• What could be improved in this module?
I personally would have preferred to have the class face-to-face as we would have been able to communicate more with our friends and lecturer as it is a design class. I believe we could have explored new ideas together.

 INTERCULTURAL DESIGN ACADEMIC BLOG Project 1: PROPOSAL On our first class leture for intercultural design, we held an online meeting. We were roughly briefed on our programme structure and  the Module Information Booklet (MIB). We were given the task to create a proposal revolving on the theme of "Cultural Sensitivity in Design". Task 01: GARMENT DRAPING – BASIC TOP

  Draping is a technique used to make a 3-dimensional dress pattern with the aid of a dress form figure by pinning and placing fabric against the form to create a garment. Typically, designers use muslin, which is cost-efficient and offered in a variety of weights.  To start off the project, we started constructing our bust tape with the measurement of 8cm wide and 50cm in length. For this assignment, I used calico. After measuring out the bust tape, I cut it out. Then, ironed the bust tape while folding it into 4 equal parts.  This is how the bust tape looked like after ironing it.  Firstly, we opened up the folds and sewed a straight line down the center then sewed a topstitch 1cm folding both ends. After folding it back, sew a straight line across the center. length wise. The bust tape is then ready to be used. FINAL PROJECT ( WEEK 9 - 14 )

  During week 9, after finalizing our 10 different designs in Introduction to Fashion Design classes, we had sat down and started drafting the patterns for the show in July. We discuss with both lecturers and come up with a reasonable design and simplified one.  LOOK 1 Figure 1  I had come up with a vest design for my top as it would be simple and easy to construct. The main attraction would be the texture that is added to the top.  Figure 2 Figure 3 Figure 4 I tried to do the pattern pieces for the garment using the drafted patterns, but the design didn't look as what I wanted to show. So, I had decided to wait and ask advice from Ms. Melina during our next class.  Figure 5 Figure 6 Figure 7 Figure 8 I did a test pattern to make sure the fit was right for model size. During that weekend I had cut out the pattern pieces that I had sketched with an allowance of 1.5 cm all around using scrap fabric that I found at home.  At the end of the week, we went for fabric shopping with Ms.Me
